Furoshiki is the Japanese art of cloth wrapping, traditionally used to transport clothes, gifts or other goods such as food.
Use this furoshiki inspired cloth to make your gift extra special! The wrapping may be returned to you or passed on to wrap another gift or for another purpose (such as wrapping objects for travel).
This furoshiki-inspired wrapping cloth is made using beautiful organic cotton and is double sided (same pattern both sides) for a beautiful wrapping/unwrapping experience. It comes in three sizes:
Small (35 x 35cm)
Great for small items like perfume or a small jewellery box.
Medium (50 x 50cm)
Best for books, soft toys, or clothes.
Large (70 x 70cm)
Best for larger or bulky items like small board games, shoe box, or over-sized books.
Gift wrap etiquette
There are no rules: keep them in the family, make them part of the gift, or just ask for them back!
Spot clean and iron if necessary, otherwise simply fold and store them away for next time.
Follow these simple steps to get started:
- Lay the cloth out diagonally, with the gift in the centre.
- Fold the bottom corner up and over the gift.
- Fold the top corner down and over the gift (tuck in the corner if you like).
- Take the left and right corners and tie into a knot! Voilà!
There are so many ways you can wrap with Furoshiki and lots of helpful video tutorials online, or you can get inventive and wrap it your own way!
